






Q. What is Tae Kwon Do?
A. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial Art and self defence system.
Q. What does Tae Kwon Do mean?
A. Tae Kwon DO means “the way of the hand and foot”
Q. Will I get hurt doing Tae Kwon Do?
A. No, there should be no reason at all for you to be hurt doing Tae Kwon Do, all lessons are supervised. Martial Arts are considered to be one of the safest
forms of exercise. Safety pads are used when sparring and sparring is Supervised.
Q. I won’t know anyone
A. There is no need to worry about knowing anyone, everyone in class is very
friendly and welcoming.
Q. Where are classes held?
A. Wickersley School and Sports college, Wickersley, Rotherham, and
Burringham Village Hall, Burringham, Scunthorpe. Maps of both venues are linked from our “Schools” page.
Q. What days are lessons?
A. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Wickersley and Wednesdays at Burringham.
Q. What time do lessons start?
A. All classes start at 7 p.m.
Q. Why do I have to pay a “monthly” fee?
A. We charge a monthly fee as we have set monthly outgoings, and cannot rely on a “pay per lesson” system to cover our financial commitments.
Q. How much is the monthly fee?
A. Currently fees are. Wickersley £25.00 per month for up to 8 lessons, and Burringham is £16.00 per month for up 4 lessons per month.
Q.Do I need a uniform?
A. Yes you will need a uniform once you have decided our classes are for you. Uniforms are available from the Instructor.
Q. Do I need to buy my uniform from the Instructor?
A. Yes, we use a certain style of uniform which also has our school logo printed onto them.
Q. Do I need to take Grading's?
A. Yes, It is important to grade. So as your skill progresses, it is recognised.
Q. Will I need safety equipment (hand, feet, pads)?
A. Yes you will require safety equipment at some point, these are usually purchased around Yellow belt grade.
Q. Do I have to compete in tournaments?
A. No, not at all, you will not be pressured in any way to compete in tournaments
Q. Can I enter sparring tournaments?
A. Yes of course once your sparring skills are at the standard required. There are tournaments or competitions held locally and nationally.
